WHAT MYTHS ARE MADE OF!

So I'm sitting in the engl lit department looking for what classes I need. while searching for a class i can take, and i see a course that is available. And guess what?, it's a teacher I had while first attending MSU 10 years ago! It reminded me of my time at junior college. When a professor told me, " If you find a teacher you understand, one who understands you. You try everything possible to be in that person's classes!" That's a no-brainer to me. I only managed to get the class due to his kindness. Since he is prone to reading class blogs, " Thank you Dr. Sexson!" Remember that a lil flattery goes a long way.

The class is Shakespeare. Not much of a thought goes into reading the course title. The name is know throughout the world, taught in almost all levels of education, and one of the most inspirational collections of letters on page to the written works of mankind. Not an understatement either. The main focus being on the Mythic notations surrounding William Shakespeare. One only need to look up the word myth and see that the man mentioned as the main investment of the course meets just about all given definitions. Willy is a myth in himself. A writer with no proper training scribing masterpieces? Yeah right! A man who existed, yet not many facts are known about him? How is that possible? Its all kind of comical and seems like something right out of a Shakespearean play. Or the bible. In order to look at something mythic, it has to be a story about some one or something that is colossal in scale, and enveloped in a historical community. The background many not be identicly matched, but the structure remains the same in any culture. When speaking of something as a myth you look at it from skewed eyes. Because you may not know or believe if a myth is real. If you were there at the events or even around them at the time, then you are a part of that very same myth. You become absorbed. It is also said that a myth is compared to some measure of greatness, light or dark. (in my nerdiest Star Wars, Vader voice!) All one need do is visit any place with a gathering of books n most likely you will find texts that are filled with references to William the spear shaker. Or simply type in his name on any web search and the links number in the millions. Paintings and statues surround the world, yet is that his real face?

Who he was still isnt as important as one simple fact!... A name was written down, letters of the alphabet were arranged recorded. Those words, punctuation, and alliterations mixed and caused a fire to the mind. It sparked an awakening of the imagination!!! These comments listed in a fluid blend of poetry! All you have to do is close your eyes in you enter an entirely new world. A fantasy world that is individual to each person submerged in the literary collection of thought. What is that but not mythical! If what i said seems like ramblings, thats because it is. but you will still take something away from it. There is a reason the pen can be mightier than the sword... that reason is that as the wielder of the his sword dies with him. When the wielder of the pen passes, his words remain.
